The Issue
One of the greatest challenges our country now faces is finding qualified nurses to provide care in our hospitals. While the healthcare industry is working to address the core issue of the current shortage, the fact remains that there are not enough nurses in the United States to staff our hospitals. It is estimated that by the year 2020, the shortage of registered nurses will become significantly worse due to retiring baby boomers and a low interest of United States born nurse candidates.
